Kevin, move this if you think it belongs somewhere else.
This is the hub assembly from the water pump used on the 4-cylinder Volvo 240, 740, 650 and 950 models, and probably others before them. It has sealed double-row bearings and is very sturdy. The bearing OD is 1.5", the long end of the shaft is 5/8" and the short end with the pulley hub is 3/4". The weak point of the pump is that the seals leak after a few years, but if it's replaced reasonably soon the bearings are fine. DSCN4028a.JPG I've used these or many projects over the years; a jackshaft on a conveyor, a welding turntable, and now a turntable to sandblast and paint the Jeep wheels. There's a garage near me that specializes in Volvos and used to replace one or two a month. Those models have been out of production for almost a decade, so it's a good time to get a few old pumps. They're handy as pockets on a shirt. |

Glad you like it. I keep finding more uses for these.
